7:00 ARRIVAL & FREE PLAY CHILDREN ARRIVE, WELCOME EACH OTHER AND HAVE FREE PLAY. THIS HELPS THE CHILDREN WORK ON SOCIAL SKILLS AS WELL AS BUILD FRIENDSHIPS.
8:00 BREAKFAST ALL OF THE CHILDREN WHO HAVE ARRIVED AT THIS POINT WILL EAT TOGETHER FAMILY STYLE. BREAKFAST IS OPEN FOR THOSE TO ARRIVE UP UNTIL 9:00 AM. ALL CHILDREN WILL WASH HANDS PRIOR TO EATING. CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED TO RETURN TO FREE PLAY ONCE FINISHED WITH BREAKFAST.
9:00 CALENDAR & MUSIC AND MOVEMENT CHILDREN LEARN AND PRACTICE MATH SKILLS DURING CALENDAR. MUSIC TIME IS FILLED WITH SONGS, RHYMES, AND DANCE. THROUGH MUSIC WE LEARN LANGUAGE, PHONEMIC AWARENESS, MATH, MUSIC, SOCIAL SKILLS AND GROSS MOTOR SKILLS.
9:20 MESSAGE OF THE DAY & CIRCLE 1 WE READ A BOOK/TEXT RELATED TO OUR THEME. CHILDREN SHARE, JOIN IN, MAKE MEANING AND MAKE CONNECTIONS TO BUILD READING COMPREHENSION, BOOK KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR PHONEMIC AWARENESS. DO CONNECTING ACTIVITIES (CHARTS, GRAPHS, SONGS, ETC.) TO BUILD ORAL LANGUAGE, SOCIAL SKILLS, SCIENCE/MATH CONCEPTS, AND VARIOUS LITERACY SKILLS.
9:40 PLAY PAN & CENTERS STUDENTS MAKE A PLAN FOR PLAY, DECIDING WHERE THEY WANT TO GO, AND WHO THEY WANT TO PLAY WITH, AND WHAT THEY WANT TO PLAY (VERBALLY THEN AS THE YEAR PROGRESSED WRITTEN). OUR CENTERS ARE ART, BLOCKS, DISCOVERY, LIBRARY, OR PRETEND. NEW THEMED ACTIVITIES ARE ADDED TO EACH CENTER EVERY WEEK. SKILLS AND CONCEPTS STUDENTS ARE LEARNING ARE LITERACY, MATH, SCIENCE, ART, FINE MOTOR, AND SOCIAL SKILLS.
10:30 OUTSIDE/GROSS MOTOR VARIOUS GROSS MOTOR ACTIVITIES ARE SET UP AROUND THE PLAYGROUND TO PRACTICE AND DEVELOP VARIOUS MOTOR SKILLS. CHILDREN CAN ALSO PLAY ON THE EQUIPMENT OR IN THE OUTSIDE KITCHEN AREA DAILY. WHEN UNABLE TO GO OUTSIDE DUE TO WEATHER LARGE MOTOR ROOM WILL BE USED FOR ACTIVITIES.
11:30 LUNCH & READ AROUND THE ROOM ALL CHILDREN EAT LUNCH TOGETHER FAMILY STyLE. WHEN A CHILD IS FINISHED EATING, THEY USE BATHROOM TO CLEAN UP. CHILDREN WILL THEN READ WITH A FRIEND OR INDIVIDUALLY WAITING FOR EVERYONE TO FINISH AND LUNCH TO BE CLEANED UP.
12:00 CIRCLE 2 FOR CIRCLE 2 WE FOCUS ON BUILDING SOCIAL SKILLS, CHARACTER, OR SCIENCE. WE MAY READ A BOOK, DO A CHARACTER BUILDING OR SOCIAL SKILLS ACTIVITY, HAVE A CLASS MEETING OR HAVE A SCIENCE TALK.
1:00 REST/NAP/QUIET TIME ALL CHILDREN ARE TO REST QUIETLY ON THEIR NAP MATS. PROVIDER WILL RUB BACKS, SNUGGLE AND SIT WITH CHILDREN DURING THIS TIME. THIS IS ALSO A “DOWN” TIME FOR THE PROVIDER.
3:00 SNACK & FREE CHOICE SNACK PROVIDES MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE MATH CONCEPTS AND SKILLS. WHEN CHILDREN ARE FINISHED WITH SNACK THEY HAVE A CHANCE TO RETURN TO AN AREA OF THEIR CHOICE.
4:00 JOURNALS STUDENTS DRAW AND WRITE ABOUT THEIR DAY AT TABLES. STUDENTS ARE LEARNING ABOUT CONCEPTS OF PRINT, WRITING, LETTERS, SOUNDS, AND STRENGTHENING FINE MOTOR SKILLS.
